Dave Sanford

Coaching Bio

Coach Sanford is in his first year as the head coach of the boys track team. Coach Sanford ran both track and cross country while he attended Central Columbia High School, and owns the record in the 1600m run with a time of 4:20. During his senior year of 2004, Coach Sanford placed 5th at the 2004 PIAA state championships in the 1600m run.

After graduating from High School, Coach Sanford ran track and cross country at Bloomsburg University for two years and then transferred to Mansfield University where he finished his collegiate eligibility. In 2008, Coach Sanford was the PSAC Champion in the 800m run at the Indoor Championships and the runner-up in the 2007 season. Coach Sanford also qualified for the NCAA National Championships in 2008. Coach Sanford also owns school records at both Mansfield and Bloomsburg University.

After graduating from Mansfield in 2009, Coach Sanford moved to Wellsboro in December 2012 and have been subbing in the district. Coach Sanford enjoys working with kids, being outdoors, and staying active, playing the guitar, and singing.
