Hornet Track Teams Finish 2nd At Coudersport Invite

The Wellsboro Track & Field teams both posted 2nd place finishes at yesterday's Coudersport Invite.

The boys team finished with 67 points behind rival North Penn-Mansfield (84). The girls scored 75 points to finish behind Williamson (99).

For the boys, senior Micah Vickery (16.48) and junior David Seeling (17.17) were 2nd and 4th in the 110m hurdles, senior Jack Bryant (11.63) was 3rd in the 100m, junior Max Macias (4:35.64) was 3rd in the 1600m, juniors Aaron Kirk (55.58) and Jacob Baldwin (55.89) were 6th and 7th in the 400m, Vickery (44.35) was 3rd in the 300m hurdles with Seeling (45.97) was 7th, senior Alex Citrino (24.78) was 8th in the 200m, Macias (10:15.69) and junior Henry Whitney (10:16.94) were 3rd and 4th in the 3200m.

Wellsboro won the 4x100m relay in 45.52, was 5th in the 4x400m in 3:48.05, and took 4th in the 4x800m relay in 9:23.30.

Senior Gabe Carpenter (11-ft, 6) won the pol vault, freshman Ransom Schultz (126-ft, 7) was 8th in the javelin and 8th in the shot put (35-ft, 1).

For the girls, sophomore Piper Hoprich (12.49) won the 100m with freshman Luna Moyer (13.72) in 7th, sophomore Lauren Kosek (5:25.30) won the 1600m, freshman Isla Twoey (51.67) was 4th in the 300m hurdles, Kosek (2:25.45) was 2nd in the 800m, Hoprich (26.65) won the 200m with junior Sophia Yoder (27.94) in 7th, and Kosek won the 3200m in 12:28.55.

The Lady Hornets won the 4x100m (51.21) and 4th in the 4x800m (12:53.28) relays.

Junior Kristina Belz (4-ft, 6) was 3rd in the high jump with junior Olivia Gage and freshmn Bella Hawn tying for 6th (4-ft, 2), and sophomore Ellie Largey (7-ft) tied for 7th in the pole vault.

Freshman Aileen Bowers (78-ft, 9) was 8th in the discus, and junior Taylor Main (92-ft, 6) was 5th in the javelin.

Both teams are back in action on Monday afternoon for a tri-meet with rival North Penn-Mansfield and Athens.
